Sea Forest
Design Process
I was assigned to illustrate a forest within one week. It did not matter what kind of forest it was, as long as it applied to the theme being a forest. I didn't want to make a normal forest so my goal was to make a sea forest. My goal was to make the lilly pads the trees and the kelp the bushes.

I started with a traditional sketch and started to block in the colours as you can see above in the process. I blocked in the colours and built up the ocean floor with textures brushes.

My only challenge creating this illustration was creating the surface of the water because the lighting is what would give the dimension to this piece.

To combat this issue, I made sure to add water lines around the water lilly pads to show the pad was on the surface and the roots were underwater. In addition to that, I added extra water lines over the character to show that she was under water.
